Kayla Dailey and her three children Hailey, Logan and Isabella just broke ground on their new Habitat home. Their home will be the first home in Phase III of West End Place and is something Kayla has been dreaming about for a long time.
Kayla, Hailey and Isabella stopped by the office for a visit one day. “What does having your own home mean to you?” they were asked and Hailey, 11, was quick to answer. “It means having a place to celebrate the Holidays and a place where I can invite my friends over!” We all laughed at this because, let’s face it, when you’re 11, life is basically about holidays and friends.
As we looked at Kayla for her answer, she began to cry a little. “It means something of our own. It’s something I’ve worked hard at, and I can’t wait until I never have to move again!” Isabella, 8, turned from where she was sitting on her mom’s lap and said excitedly “You mean we never have to move from there?” “No, we don’t” Kayla answered, with a big smile coming through her tears.
Isabella will have her own room in her own house. Her sister Hailey will have a room where she can hang out with her friends, have sleepovers and build happy memories. Her brother Logan will have a place where he can play outside safely.
There is more building to do but soon, the Dailey family will be moving into their own decent, affordable Habitat home.
