"I support Putnam County Habitat for Humanity because
I feel like I am helping people who really need help."

Jack Blankenship (deceased),
construction volunteer from 1998-2004

Volunteers
Our most critical resource to build is Volunteers - at the worksites, in the office, and at the ReStore! No construction experience is necessary; most of our volunteers have unskilled hands but willing hearts. We provide on-the-job training. You can volunteer for an hour or a full shift. You can help once a month, once a week, or everyday. You choose. Just let us know by checking our online volunteer calendar and signing up online or by completing our Volunteer Form (PDF 108kb). For more information, call our offices at 528-1711.

Due to OSHA regulations, all home building volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Activities are available through Putnam County Habitat for Humanity for youth under 16 years old. Call Pam Ealey for details.

All new volunteers are invited to a Volunteer Orientation. Whether you want to work in our ReStore, on a committee or on the jobsite, we want you to be more informed about our organization and the expectations we have of you and what you can expect from us. Nuts & Bolts is the volunteer orientation for individuals interested in volunteering on the jobsite. Check out our affiliate calendar for the next Nuts & Bolts meeting. Our Habitat ReStore holds volunteer orientations on an as-needed basis.
