History

"We may have different views on baptism, communion, what night to have a prayer meeting,
or how the preacher should dress, but thank God we can agree on a nail,
and the use of a hammer as an instrument to manifest God's Love."

– Millard Fuller, Founder and President of Habitat for Humanity International

Covenant Partners
One of the most satisfying projects any organization can undertake is to partner with Putnam County Habitat in building a Habitat home. Area churches, businesses, and organizations that join us as a Covenant Partner are an essential part of our ministry. We work together to break the cycle of poverty. Becoming a Covenant Partner requires financial and labor support to assist in building a home. Building a Habitat home is great for team building within your organization and it truly is a blessing for the partner family and the volunteers. It's all about building houses, building hope.

Your congregation or organization (Habitat announces new partnership with Heritage Ford) can sponsor a home independently or join with another group (Big and Small, Local Churches Partner for Habitat for Humanity) to share the funding and volunteer needs. On any Habitat project, there's ample need for laborers of all skill levels, from expert carpenters to people willing to serve meals. As a result, every member of your congregation or group can enjoy being a vital part of your team. Our staff and Covenant Partner committee work with our partners to ensure a successful build, including providing ideas for volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and a 10 week Saturday build schedule.

For further information on the Covenant Partner program, please call our Resource Development Manager .

It has been a great blessing for our church family to be involved in Habitat for Humanity. It has added a new avenue of ministry within our ongoing outreach to our community and our world. A local outreach project gives our members an opportunity to be involved in missions, especially those who may not be able to go on a foreign mission project. All of the workers at Habitat have been great to work with. Everything is done with efficiency and compassion. Getting to know the homeowners has been a great blessing to our fellowship. We praise God for giving us the opportunity to co-labor with you in the work of the Kingdom.
