Putnam County Habitat for Humanity and the Reneau Family recently celebrated the 35th Habitat house dedication! This home on Edwards Lane was funded partially from the affiliate's annual Cooking on the Square event!

PCHFH builds homes thru the support of volunteers and donors in the community. The homeowner "partners" help build their own home and purchase the home from PCHFH with a no-interest mortgage. The mortgage payments help PCHFH continue building more homes. For ten years the community has been supporting the work of PCHFH and helping rid the county of poverty housing by providing families in need with the hand-up of the Habitat program.

Cooking on the Square features a variety of gumbo and other cajun favorites with beautiful hand-thrown pottery. It is an annual event held the last Friday in October, at the location of Jefferson Avenue and the grounds of the Putnam County courthouse.

For more information on Cooking on the Square or PCHFH, call the PCHfH office at 528-1711 or visit their website at pchabitat.org.
