Ways you can support the work of PCHFH

Every gift from $1 and up is greatly appreciated. We strive to be excellent stewards of the donations and financial support received for this ministry. In 2004 Habitat World magazine published Give Wisely (PDF 63kb), which provides some guidance not only for your support of Habitat, but also your other considerations.

General Donations
Thank you for your interest in supporting our work with your donation. Every $1, $100, $1,000, and $10,000+ donation is greatly appreciated. You may bring your gift to our office or mail it to PCHFH, 728 E 15th St., Cookeville, TN 38501.

Giving Clubs
Dream Builders Society: A vital ingredient in our ability to continue building homes is the support we receive from our partners who commit gifts for a minimum of five years through our Dream Builders Society, with the following membership levels:

  • Foundation Builder: $1,000-$4,999 pledge per year for five years
  • Home Builder: $5,000-$9.999 pledge per year for five years
  • Neighborhood Builder: $10,000 - $19,999 pledge per year for five years
  • Community Builder: $20,000 or more pledge per year for five years

Cornerstone Club: $500 pledge per year for five years.

Ground Breakers Club: Members give $25 each time we break ground. A postcard will be sent to you inviting you to the groundbreaking ceremony and to remind you of your pledge. Print this Groundbreakers Club form (PDF 23 kb) and mail it in to show your support of PCHFH.

T.E.A.M. Building Days
This program is ideal for local businesses looking for opportunities to get their employees out of the office! They can support a build project with a workday (weekday or weekend) for their employees, while building team morale and enthusiasm by making a positive impact in our community. Team building exercises are provided along with lunch, photographs, and a great day helping a local family achieve the dream of homeownership. Donation required to purchase building materials is $100/employee (minimum of 8 participants). See the T.E.A.M. Building Days Brochure (PDF 180kb).

Memorial and In-Honor Gifts
We accept donations through gifts in honor or memory of loved ones. We send an acknowledgment card to the individual and the family, informing them of your gift.

Gifts-in-Kind
Putnam County Habitat for Humanity welcomes your gifts-in-kind. Several area businesses partner with PCHFH by providing donated building materials or labor. This is a great way to support our ministry. These gifts can be in the form of goods or services. Please contact the office if you have goods or services to provide on an in-kind basis. You may not realize it but every Habitat for Humanity home in the U.S. is provided a refrigerator and range FREE courtesy of the Whirlpool Corporation. Other national donors that benefit our local Partner Families include Larson Doors, Yale Locks, and Hunter-Douglas blinds.

Land
Putnam County Habitat for Humanity is always on the lookout for potential building sites for homes. If you have land that you believe is appropriate for Habitat for Humanity, please contact the office.

Covenant Partnerships
Families, area churches, businesses, and organizations that join us as a Covenant Partner are an essential part of our ministry. We work together to break the cycle of poverty. Becoming a Covenant Partner requires financial and labor support to assist in building a home. Read more about Covenant Partnerships.

Adopt-A-Lot
This program allows individuals and corporations an opportunity to become a “friend” of Putnam County Habitat for Humanity by “adopting a lot” at a cost of $5,000. The money helps offset the total cost of an improved lot (ready to build on). The Adopt-A-Lot program is also a wonderful way to honor a loved one.

Apostles Build
Be one of twelve churches or organizations to help provide an affordable home by providing a twelfth of the funds and labor necessary to build the home through this annual build project. More information is available in the Apostles Build Brochure (PDF 172kb).

Planned Gifts
Many faithful supporters who hammer and paint and give financial gifts wish they could give even more, but feel there is just no more room in the family budget. With a little creativity, planned giving can allow these generous partners to make larger gifts than they had ever thought possible. And with careful planning, results can include increased retirement income; reduced income taxes, capital gains taxes and estate taxes; and a legacy of decent houses for those in need. Opportunities include leaving a gift in your will, gifts of stock, gift annuities, life insurance policies and others.

Wish List
In addition to the general support for house building and administration, some very specific needs have been identified. The Wish List contains a list of specific items that you might already have or might like to purchase and donate. Although we try to keep this list current, please contact the office before you purchase an item on the Wish List.
