Summer Youth Blitz - 2005
Teenagers from as far away as California and Rhode Island have converged into Putnam County for the HFH Summer Youth Blitz Build. Thirteen teenagers are spending 2 weeks of their summer vacation helping us build a home for Kerrie West and her children.

Each year HFH conducts three Summer Youth Blitz Builds in the U.S. and for the second time in two years, our affiliate was selected to serve as a host. First Cumberland Presbyterian Church has served as home base for the group, but most of their time has been spent on Edwards Lane working on the house. In addition to building, the group, which is led by four leaders, has had the opportunity to spend afternoons swimming in Dale Hollow Lake, boating at Pickett State Park, and sightseeing in Nashville.

This program brings kids together from all types of backgrounds and provides them an opportunity to learn to work together with others to help a family in need. States represented by the group include California, Arkansas, Alabama, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. We thank all of the groups and businesses that are supporting this build by providing lunches, dinners, and even a pool party presented by Echo Valley Pool. Construction on the home will continue this summer.
